Duties & responsibilities
- Acts as lead credit analyst in infrastructure and project finance transactions, with focus on capital market vehicles
- Performs analysis both at the equity and the debt level
- Analysis involves quantitative and qualitative aspects and may require visiting project sites around Europe
- Studies project contracts and documentation
- Modifies and runs the cash-flow models of projects in order to incorporate the relevant rating stresses and obtains the loss of the rated instruments under different event outcomes
- Produces opinionated rating reports and sector research, demonstrating Scope’s fundamental understanding of credit risk in the context of infrastructure and project finance and its trends
- Participates in rating committees as lead analyst or independent member
Professional & personal qualifications
- 5+ years of post-graduate experience in a large rating agency, a bank, a structuring advisory or an investment fund, with a clear focus on project finance
- Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, banking, economics, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent qualification
- Strong education in finance
- In-depth knowledge of and relevant experience in at least one infrastructure and project finance sector
- Familiarity with the diverse types of funding options in project or asset finance such as term loans, project bonds, revolving facilities
- Understanding of the basic credit risk factors in project finance and ability to generate robust rating rationale
- Understanding of the basic relevant legal issues in project finance
- Highly analytical, with an edge for fundamental and quantitative analysis
- Confident and professional appearance and high social and communication skills
- Accountable and reliable person of highest integrity
- Willingness to take responsibility with an entrepreneurial attitude
- Fluency in at least a major European language (German and / or French preferred) in addition to English
