Summary
The Payroll Programme Manager will oversee and manage payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of pay-ments for all employees. This role involves developing and implementing payroll policies, managing payroll systems, and ensur-ing compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Additionally, the position serves as a liaison between the People & Organisa-tion department and the Finance department in administering the monthly payroll.
Duties & responsibilities
- Oversee the complete payroll process, including data collection, processing, and distribution.
- Serve as the intermediary between the People & Organisation and Finance departments for managing the monthly, quarterly and annual payroll.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage payroll systems and software, ensuring they are current and operating efficiently.
- Collaborate with other People roles and the Finance department to maintain accurate employee data and financial reporting.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Perform regular audits of payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and submit payment reports to Finance, Auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
- Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations and make necessary adjustments.
- Train and supervise payroll staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Professional & personal qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management or related roles.
- Experience with international payroll processes.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, software, and best practices.
- Excellent understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software (e.g., ADP, SAP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
