Director - AI & Data Transformation

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Domain AI Expert to join the Data & AI Team at Scope. This role is central to delivering the value impact of AI transformation across the organization. The Domain AI Expert will help to define and oversee domain-specific data products, semantic layers, and AI agents, while ensuring alignment with business needs, compliance standards, and technical excellence. The role requires deep expertise in data science, AI development, and domain-specific transformation, combined with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. This is a strategic leadership position that bridges business and technology, driving innovation and operational excellence in Scope’s AI journey.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Lead and support analytical, data & IT to define and orchestrate domain-specific data products and data maps, including MCP data, tools, and AI agents.
  • Manage data domain ownership and ensure alignment with governance, compliance, and business objectives.
  • Support in design, implementation, and steering of semantic layers and ETL pipelines tailored to analytical domains.
  • Support LLM Ops initiatives, including prompt and context engineering, to support the development of domain-specific GPTs and AI agents.
  • Develop and monitor business and delivery KPIs for technical teams and management, ensuring transparency and accountability for compliance and senior management.
  • Act as a liaison between Analytical Ratings, Data & AI Team, and AI Center of Excellence on key topics.
  • Translate domain-specific analytical needs into technical specifications and scalable AI solutions.
  • Support the implementation of AI use cases across the company, ensuring measurable improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
  • Present complex technical topics to senior management and cross-functional stakeholders in a clear and strategic manner.
  • Continuously optimize the data and AI tech stack, contributing to innovation and long-term scalability.
  • Participate in daily and weekly governance meetings with Project Managers, AI Ambassadors, and technical teams to align on deliverables, feedback, and roadmap execution.
     

Professional & personal qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience across data science, data engineering, and AI development, with a strong track record of delivering impactful solutions.
  • Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics).
  • Proven coding experience and hands-on expertise in AI/ML frameworks, LLMs, and data infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of semantic data modeling, ETL pipelines, and AI stack components (e.g., LLMs, Azure AI Foundry, vector DBs, data factories, A2A and MCP setups).
  • Experience with agile methodologies and cross-functional team leadership.
  • Financial industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Strategic communicator with high emotional intelligence, capable of bridging technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
