Scope Ratings is offering a challenging task in its Structured Finance team. You will be part of a commit-ted and professional international team of structured finance specialists spread across Europe. Scope has built a strong track record in rating high-profile public transactions for NPLs, SME CLOs, RMBSs, CMBS, Auto ABS and trade receivables.
We are looking for a candidate to be based in Berlin. Scope allows quality work to become quickly visible. You will be part of a committed and professional team with direct exposure to senior management and clients once you have demonstrated your capabilities. Duties & responsibilities
- Support analysts on the production of internal and external content related to credit analysis of live sophisticated structured finance transactions including preparation and participation to credit rating committees.
- Participate to projects related to new methodology developments, and operational efficiency improvement in the structured finance team
- Analyse credit performance data (delinquency, defaults, prepayments, recovery) and derive analytical assumptions.
- Support analysts building models under various including advanced programming language for a large diversity of structured finance projects.
- Data mining and statistical analysis for a broad range of structured finance asset classes (NPLs, SME ABS, RMBS, auto ABS, CMBS, etc.).
Professional & personal qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong statistical skills with ability to apply in practice.
- Good understanding on the foundations of finance.
- Good understanding of simulation models (Monte Carlo simulation).
- Good skills in MS Excel with VBA, Word and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, R, python, and SQL or Data Science experience a plus
- Strong interest and motivation for learning the practical insights of structured finance and credit markets.
- Interest in developing a career in quantitative finance.
- Highly reliable and with high rigor standards and with attention to details.
- Highly critical, curious and able to think outside the box.
- Enrolled university student; masters-level students or higher and top European engineering schools only
- Fluent proficiency in English is a must. Other European languages are a plus.
