Scope Group is expanding its Risk Solutions analytical team across Europe. The team is a part of Scope Ratings’ committed and professional international team. It provides high-quality credit risk solutions to insurance companies, banks, asset managers and credit-sensitive corporates. We are looking for a dedicated intern based in Berlin or Frankfurt who will work closely with the team of Credit Risk Analysts contributing to Scope’s analysis and research. Duties & responsibilities
- Support in analysing financial statements of companies (balance sheet, profit & loss account, cash flow statement)
- Assist in gathering and analysing ownership structures as well as publicly available information such as share price, market valuations, credit ratings etc.
- Collect information on various industries and select aspects relevant to analysed company. Identify key trends within industry
- Support the identification of how the analysed company is positioned on the market and how the industry trends influence the financial outlook for the company
- Research on financial analysis of the company with emphasis on drivers of creditworthiness such as leverage, debt servicing capability and liquidity
- Populate with qualitative and quantitative inputs credit risk models, which produce scores as outputs
- Proof-reading of German-language output
Professional & personal qualifications
- Enrolled university student; masters-level students, ideally in the fields of finance, econometrics, accounting, or economics
- Prior experience in credit analysis / company valuations / corporate financial analysis is a plus
- Good understanding of the economic meaning of positions in financial statements
- International background from undergraduate studies or previous work experience is helpful
- Experience from a role as intern or working student is desirable
- Excellent command of MS Office product suite
- Reliable with attention to detail
- Strong interest and motivation for learning the practical insights of Credit Risk Analysis
- German-native speaker; a requirement for a particular ongoing assignment. Proficient written and oral communication skills in English, which is the working language of the company
