Summary
The Senior Director takes part to and leads in complete autonomy credit rating committees for the assignment and, occasionally, the monitoring of structured finance ratings. In this context, the jobholder analyses complex structured finance transactions, develops and maintains credit rating methodologies and writes insightful credit research related to the structured finance sector. The Senior Director also acts as a mentor and provides an example to less experienced analysts. Moreover, the Senior Director leads operational review visits and takes part to investor, issuer and arranger’s meetings and calls. Duties & responsibilities
- Takes a leading role in the development of Scope’s analytical capabilities and methodologies
- Analyses, as a lead analyst, structured finance transactions to assign credit ratings on all types of structured finance instruments
- Acts as formal manager and coaches and leads more junior analysts in order to increase the output of the team and pass on knowledge
- Suggests an applicable analytical approach, within the current methodological framework, for non-standard and particularly complex transactions
- Acts as communication point-of-contact between Scope Ratings and clients when methodologies and analytical capabilities have to be explained
- Conducts discussions with clients, investors, the media and other market participants, as well as giving presentations, explanations and briefings at a highly professional level
- Either produces or more frequently leads and coaches more junior analysts in producing high-quality, insightful and forward-looking research and analytical comments on a timely basis
Professional & personal qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in the structured finance sector or closely related sectors
- Master's degree in finance, banking, economics, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent qualification
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial market and credit
- Extensive knowledge of several structured finance industry segments and geographical markets, including expertise in asset, counterparty and structural analysis, as well as cash flow modelling and documentation review
- Good knowledge of the different legal frameworks for securitisation in the main European jurisdictions as well as of European banking regulatory and legal frameworks
- Sound understanding in the use of quantitative tools specific to the analysis of structured finance transactions
- Team player with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Multi-cultural, collaborative, self-starter, versatile, inquisitive and detail-oriented personality
- Ability to meet deadlines and motivate others to do the same
- Fluency in at least a major language in addition to English
