Summary
The Associate Director takes part to and leads in complete or partial autonomy credit rating committees for the assignment and, occasionally, monitoring of structured finance ratings. In this context, the jobholder analyses simple / standard to more complex structured finance transactions. Moreover, the Associate Director contributes to the development and maintenance of credit rating methodologies, writes insightful credit research related to the structured finance sector, occasionally takes part to issuer and arranger's meetings and calls, as well as operational review visits. Duties & responsibilities
- Analyses and occasionally monitors, as a lead analyst, structured finance transactions to assign and maintain credit ratings on structured finance instruments
- Understands, masters and contributes to the development of Scope’s analytical capabilities and methodologies
- Communicates and collaborates with various internal and external parties in the context of analysis and ratings
- Provides guidance to other junior analysts and interns
- Produces high-quality, insightful and forward-looking research and analytical comments on a timely basis
Professional & personal qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in the structured finance sector or closely related sectors
- Master's degree in finance, banking, economics, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent qualification
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial market and credit
- Extensive knowledge of one or more structured finance industry segments or geographical markets, including expertise in asset, counterparty and structural analysis, as well as cash flow modelling and documentation review
- Ability to understand and identify key rating factors
- Sound understanding and proficiency in the use of quantitative tools specific to the analysis of structured finance transactions
- Multi-cultural, collaborative, self-starter, versatile, inquisitive and detail-oriented personality
- Accountable and dynamic with the ability to work in full autonomy and multi-task
- Independent thinker with strong problem-solving, written and oral communication skills
- Fluency in at least a major language in addition to English
