Senior Specialist - Fundamental Ratings Sales

Summary

We are seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial sales professional to join our Fundamental Ratings sales team. This client-facing individual contributor role focuses on developing new business opportunities and growing revenues across Corporates, Financial Institutions, Sovereign and Public Sector entities in the France & Benelux region. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level professional (ca. 4/5 years’ experience) with strong growth potential and is keen to build a long-term career within a leading European credit rating agency.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Originate, develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market share expansion for Fundamental Ratings across Corporates, Financial Institutions, Sovereign and Public Sector entities in France & Benelux.
  • Identify, originate and pursue new business opportunities, including inaugural ratings, renewals, extensions of existing mandates and cross-selling of related products and services.
  • Act as a trusted commercial point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders (CFOs, Treasurers, Debt Capital Markets teams, public sector officials, advisors and intermediaries).
  • Proactively manage the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and pitch preparation to mandate execution, fee negotiation and onboarding.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Analytical, Business Support, Communications and Marketing) to ensure alignment, high-quality client delivery and effective execution of sales strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of targeted sales and marketing initiatives, including client events, roadshows, presentations and tailored commercial materials.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, regulatory developments and issuance pipelines across fixed income, debt capital markets and public sector financing, and translate insights into actionable commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting and reporting, ensuring visibility on opportunities, priorities and revenue targets.

Professional & personal qualifications

  • Master degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field;
  • 4/5 years of professional experience in sales, business development or client coverage within financial markets, credit ratings, fixed income, debt capital markets, banking or related financial services.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, fixed income products and credit fundamentals across corporates, financial institutions and/or public sector issuers.
  • Proven ability to originate new business, develop client relationships and contribute to revenue growth in a competitive environment.
  • Strong commercial mindset combined with the ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers and technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and convincingly.
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive and resilient, with a strong sense of ownership and the ambition to grow within the organisation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Fluency in French and English is essential; other European languages is a plus
