Summary
Scope is seeking a self-motivated Associate to join its Credit Rating Operations Team. This junior-level role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the firm’s middle-office processes that are critical to the functioning of Europe's leading Credit Rating Agency.
You will directly influence our adherence to operational best practices with regard to client onboarding, Know Your Client (KYC) and monitoring, while also providing data management support and contributing to the publication and release of credit ratings. The position also offers opportunities to get involved with cross-functional projects aimed at streamlining processes and advancing Scope’s journey toward becoming a fully digital, data-driven leader in the credit rating agency space.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically savvy, and a quick learner with strong problem-solving skills. This role is well-suited for someone looking to build expertise at the intersection of finance, data, and operations within a regulated environment.
Duties & responsibilities

Conduct client onboarding, KYC and monitoring activities, including information gathering, ownership research, documentation, and screening tasks.
- Develop a dependable working knowledge of where and how to source reliable information to support decision-making and compliance.

Prepare, review, and maintain documentation and audit trails to ensure compliance with internal procedures and requirements.

Draft summary reports and recommendations for internal stakeholders as needed.
- Manage and maintain internal databases and registries, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and up to date.

Assist with data management assignments as needed.

Contribute to KPI reporting and tracking of operational performance metrics.

Participate in project workstreams, providing input on requirements, process improvements, and implementation.

Support with the publication processes of credit ratings.
- Support ad-hoc operational tasks as assigned, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to business needs.
Professional & personal qualifications

Proven exposure and understanding of business, finance, economics, statistics or a related field.

0–3 years of relevant work experience in financial services, operations, compliance, or data management.

Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a structured, organized way.

Expert knowledge working with data and technology tools (Excel, PowerBI, databases and data infrastructure, workflow tools, advanced lookup/matching techniques).
