Associate Director - Transactional Ratings Sales

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented professional to join Scope’s Sales Team based in London. This is a client-facing role focused on driving growth and retention across an existing client base, while actively developing new business opportunities. Ideal for an ambitious professional with 3–5 years of experience, this role offers the autonomy to manage key markets while achieving sales and relationship excellence to meet or exceed commercial targets.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Portfolio Ownership: Manage day-to-day coverage of structured & project finance originators and arrangers across the UK and EU markets.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with mid-to-senior stakeholders at investment banks, debt funds, and rating advisors.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on European Rating regulations to ensure all sales activities align with current frameworks and provide market insights to the team.
  • Pipeline Development: Deploy an entrepreneurial mindset to identify untapped market potential, self-originate leads, and close profitable business.
  • Investor Support: Service and support international investors across Europe, handling queries related to structured & project finance products.

Professional & personal qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience within capital markets, ideally with exposure to the Structured Finance (SF) market at a bank, insurer, or European debt fund.
  • Market Knowledge: Solid understanding of capital market dynamics, structured finance products, and credit rating mechanisms.
  • Communication: Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to institutional clients.
  • Languages: Business-level fluency in English is essential; proficiency in another European language is a distinct advantage.
  • Work Style: Proactive self-starter capable of managing multiple projects, tracking deals, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Agility: Proficiency in modern sales environments, including the ability to leverage AI-driven insights to optimize pipeline management and workflow efficiency.

The compensation range disclosed may encompass multiple title levels (Scope internal levels of seniority). Your actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to your individual experience, education, and seniority, and the final salary will be determined during the interview and evaluation process.

Pay Band:  Associate Director - Sales
Minimum:  65,400.00 GBP
Maximum:  90,000.00 GBP

Bonus: Contractual
